From Brad’s blog….
For the record, my goal isn’t to be the best or most popular blogger in the world. This would be a stupid goal for a minimum of two reasons…
First: It’s not in the realm of possibility. There are some great bloggers out there, both secular and spiritual, that are making a profound impact. I’m a thankful beneficiary of their significant work.
Second: And of far greater significance, my mission in life and ministry has nothing to do with being the best or most popular. To allow for this to creep into either my motivation or purpose for blogging, or any other pursuit for that matter, would be ludicrous. (Though, to be totally honest, I do in every area of my life and ministry constantly struggle with and have to beat down my very unholy competitive drive. I’m sure it will prove to be the same in this adventure.)
To the best of my ability, though I’m sure I’ll have the occasional rant that drifts off plot, the thoughts that I share in this blog will be to advance the mission I feel God has called me to in life and ministry. In order for you to hold me accountable to this standard, it’s only fair that I share those with you. (I withhold commentary on these for now because I’m sure that I will parse them out a little in future blogs.)
My Life Purpose: to be a man of God who reflects, reveals, and represents Christ in every aspect of my life.
My Ministry Purpose: to be a man of God who is a force for Christ in leading the church to prevail.
It’s my prayer that my future musings will in some way encourage, help, resource, inspire, motivate, move, prepare, and/or challenge you as you seek to more fully experience Christ and more effectively invest yourself in expanding God’s Kingdom.
