Prayer is the essential foundation for all effective ministry
Before each service, individual volunteer serving teams meet to pray for God’s blessing on their ministry time and the children they will minister to, as well as the families those children represent.

"And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.”   Matthew 21:22

Children matter to God and must matter to His church

Discovery Island invests heavily in children because it is the right thing to do.

Jesus said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.”   Matthew 19:14

Biblically based; Child centered; Relational & Fun!
Discovery Island lessons will be inspired by the Word of God. Our staff and volunteers must look through the eyes of each child to create a ministry that reaches, teaches, loves children, and makes learning fun!

“…and how from infancy you have known the holy Scripture's, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.”   2 Timothy 3:15-16

Form authentic and loving relationships with volunteers and children
Volunteers form relationships with other volunteers within their serving teams as well as with the children they minister to.

“This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.”  John 11:12

“And if anyone gives a cup of cold water to one of these little ones because he is My disciple, I tell you the truth, he will certainly not lose his reward.”  Matthew 10:42

Safe & Secure environment

Parents trust us with their most precious possessions; their children. Children thrive in an environment where they feel safe emotionally, physically, and spiritually. Discovery Island is committed to providing a safe and secure place where children can learn about Jesus.

“For in the day of trouble He will keep me safe in His dwelling.”  Psalm 27:5
