NorthRidge Church’s Smoke Detector Ministry works alongside Children’s Hospital of Michigan – Trauma Center to place smoke detectors in at-risk homes in the Detroit area. This is an outreach that protects families, and gives them a fighting chance to escape deadly fires.
NorthRidge teams install 10-year lithium detectors and provide on-site fire escape and education. Teams also have an opportunity to share Jesus Christ with the families through prayer, community and just showing a serving heart. No special skills are required – just a heart to serve. Most installation events take a half day, and are done on the weekends.
