Royal Family KIDS

Royal Family Kids Camp and Mentor Program

Royal Family KIDS was established in 1985 as a community camp for foster kids. It has grown into an international ministry serving children ages 6-12 in the foster care system. We aim to transform lives and communities by interrupting cycles of neglect, abuse, and abandonment. We do this by providing a week-long camp experience and a nine-month mentoring program, all directed at changing the trajectory of young lives. We have been blessed to witness the life-changing difference that can happen when we show God’s love by creating special memories and fostering positive adult relationships.

We are looking for dedicated, committed volunteers with a heart for serving these special children. Our greatest need is for week-long volunteers to serve as counselors, cabin staff, and support staff. In addition, we are looking for Event Team members who will help facilitate one-day events during the week of camp. Event Team members will select their participation based on interest and availability. Applicants must be at least 16 years old.

Whether you can commit to an entire week of camp or help out for a day, you can play a huge part in changing the trajectory of a child’s life. Applications, interviews, and mandatory training are required to participate in camp. Applications for this serving opportunity are due mid-March.

The next camp will be in June, 2024.

Royal Family KIDS Mentoring Club is an extension of the week-long camp experience we provide for foster care kids. At the Club, kids experience God’s word through music, drama, and crafts. Mentoring allows these vulnerable kids to maintain reliable, positive relationships with adults and spend valuable time with their siblings.

The application process for the Mentoring Club takes place over the summer. From September to May, the Club meets one Saturday a month at NorthRidge. The mentor role is reserved for volunteers who attend our week-long camp, but many other staff roles help make the Club a special experience. These roles include being a mentee buddy, food team, crafts, drama, photography, and more.
